Sifu /Guro Russell Fuson
Sifu Russell Fuson was born in South Bend, Indiana and has been actively involved in the martial arts since 1976. Sifu Fuson is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame who actively teaches seminars and clinics on a routine basis.
Sifu Fuson has studied dozens of Martial Arts Systems from around the world and was the first person in Michiana to open a legitimate school teaching Jeet Kune Do, Kalsadapo -Kenpo Karate, Filipino Martial Arts and other rare martial arts. Now you can learn the exact same unique combative arts that he has taught to military personal, federal agents , law enforcement officers and even for Hollywood actors! Sifu Fuson has also worked directly with Hollywood actors as their stunt and weapons coordinator/bodyguard and has movie credits as Stunt Supervisor. Sifu Russell Fuson is a second generation student of the late Bruce Lee who originally became ranked & certified ( In Person) from beginning through Instructor ranks under one of Bruce Lee's top students, Sifu Larry Hartsell ,and continued his training with Sifu Hartsell up until Sifu Hartsell passed away. Sifu/Guro Russell Fuson is also an instructor in Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts and Hybrid Stand-up Fighting under Sifu/ Guro Mark Stewart ,Founder of The Boxer Rebellion International Martial Arts. Sifu Fuson went on to form the Fuson Jeet Kune Do Academy in 2007, where he is the chief instructor. He is an Instructor with the JKD/FMA Integrated Fighting Systems and The Boxer Rebellion International Martial Arts. Sifu Fuson has also had the privilege to have trained under the guidance of Senior Grand Master Ed Parker ( Founder of American Kenpo) and is ranked by his instructors in Kenpo Karate. Sifu Fuson continues to cross train and is a certified instructor in many styles under numerous instructors and prefers to teach a non classical progressive blend of martial arts over traditional styles. Having been trained in both classical and non-classical methods of Karate & Kung Fu prior to entering the military, his time in the service had shown him certain weaknesses in his past training. At this period Sifu Fuson learned the importance of finding something functional and effective for his real world application. It was during the early to mid 1980's as an instructor in both Kenpo Karate and Kempo Jiu-Jitsu ,while he was overseas still learning and teaching foreign and US soldiers ,that Sifu began to look into as many arts as he could, while continuing to cross train with other soldiers and instructors in numerous arts whenever possible. After leaving the military, still prior to the UFC and the current popularity of the mixed martial arts, his studies on cross training continued. At this time he had already moved into the unique breed of Jeet Kune Do students and had become a known and respected as a second generation student of both Ed Parker and Bruce Lee. Having already had this unique influence, Sifu Fuson had managed to study a number of other martial arts before going on to become an instructor in even more rare arts including Kalsadapo, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, Jeet Kune Do Concepts ,Filipino Martial Arts, Escrima-Kali-Panuntukan-Silat ,Hybrid Stand-Up Fighting and JKD-FMA Integrated Fighting Systems. Sifu now currently teaches a blend of Eclectic Martial Arts in the Michiana area, for those interested in Non Traditional Arts and Practical Self-Defense. As you can see, with his wealth of experience, we can all gain a stronger insight to add to the effectiveness of our art, as well as to our own personal growth. |
Mr. Joe Grooms
Joe was a newcomer to the martial arts when he first came to us. Starting out first in our Kalsadapo class and soon after enrolled in all of our arts. His dedication & perseverance has developed his skills into an essential member of our school. Joe has been with us for a number of years, and received his 1st Degree Black Belt in Kalsadapo-Kenpo Karate from our academy in 2017. He also holds rank in Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, and The Filipino Martial Arts. Joe can frequently be seen as an assistant during our Martial Arts events, demos and A.D.A.P.T. Self Defense Program. and a member in good standing with both the Eclectic Martial Arts Club & The Kalsadapo Martial Arts Alliance, and the JKD-FMA Integrated Fighting Systems. |

Her drive ,motivation and determination to excel soon had her also enrolled in our Self Defense and Filipino Classes working her way through our ranks.
Over the years, she has been very active in helping and assisting with several of our public events and classes.
Jamie has earned her Level One Self Defense Instructor Certification with the A.D.A.P.T program, is a licensed Zumba Instructor, Brown Belt in Kalsadapo and holds rank in the Filipino Martial Arts.
She also teaches our Woman's Self Defense, Zumba & Cardio Kickboxing Classes.
